Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall

Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall was founded in 1987 as a non-profit gallery for the promotion of contemporary art. It is located in a 1930s warehouse in an old industrial harbour in Stockholm. Its collection includes about 600 works, mostly in non-traditional mediums. Some have been directly commissioned by the museum. The gallery focuses on 'three-dimensional and site-specific works.' The structure of an open-spaced 2,500 square metre building lends itself well to the large format of the exhibitions. The works are often spatial arrangements, using up everything from floor space to ceiling fixtures. At Magasin 3, exhibitions make statements about society, and bring attention to some of Sweden's current working artists.
