About the artist: Italian painter, also known as Bastiano Mainardi. Active from 1493 in Florence, he is said to have collaborated with Domenico Ghirlandaio in a fresco of The Assumption of the Virgin (Sta Croce, Florence), and a series of frescoes in San Gimignano, Tuscany, has been attributed to him.
