by writerjunkiesis@yahoo.ca (Apr 30, 2012)
I was given this framed picture, by an old man from the war, I assumed.  I found it interesting that the wording on the small label at the bottom, read....

       DIEGO RODRIGUEZ VELASQUEZ, Spanish, 1599-1660
The Infanta Margareta Teresa, Aged Three, in Pink

COLLECTION KUNSTHISTORISDCHES MUSEUM, VIENNA

This picture has travelled with me from southern ontario, Canada,  to above the boreal forrests that are above the fifty-sixth paralel, close to churchill.  We live on Northern Fox Cree Land of a thousand people.  We are with hydro, where my husband is a journeyman in electrical, and has trained to operate the dam spill gates, and repairing any electrical through out the the dam building.  Anyone know anything about this art work.  Someone told me it was probably stolen during the war to preserve it.  writerjunkiesis@yahoo.ca is my email.  Keeping this open to everyone to see.  The paper at the back of the picture frame is very brittle.  You can only fly out here to  see it.  Mid June my new scanner comes in, but it is to big for a scanner.  I have in no way tried to take the frame apart during these forty years that I have has it in my possession.  Hope fully someone will have some insight as what I have, and what I should do.  To get out of where I live takes a little over twelve hour, just to reach Winnipeg.  But the first four hours of road leading out is treacherous, as it is not a real road.
When I say given the picture, money exchanged hands, as he knew I was  big in black and white photos, tin backs, etc.  I tried to collect hisory as  hobby and would not even release my photo of,   Maria Christina, Napolleans wife. It is not an actual photo, but strange looking and clear.     Thank you all for your time and interest in my querry.  Yous truly, Karen De Pratto     163 Nelson P.O. #686  Gillam  Manitoba   R0B 0L0
