Notes: This table is emblematic Antoine Berjon research lyonnais artists around the grounds of the flower. Influenced by bouquets of Dutch artists or flammands which, since the seventeenth century, developed the art of still life, the painter here reflects its technical virtuosity and his ability to imitate the elements of that package of emergency . More than these masters of North Berjon seeks to give the illusion by painting flowers and fruit size. Each element can be precisely identified. On the melon, a small fly arose making extraordinarily illusionist representation, even if the tulips and poppies do not flower in the same season.
Painted in the last months of their stay in Paris Berjon this monumental still life is set in the Salon of 1810. The painter had just been appointed professor of the class of fleur de Lyon. The city, anxious to revive the silk industry, seeks in effect at the beginning of the nineteenth century, to provide models for future designers, students of the School of Fine Arts.
