Michael Odysseus Yakoumakis was born in Athens of Greece. He is a Stuckist artist, painter and illustrator. He studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples in Italy, Geological Sciences at the same city’s University and Computer Science at the Institute of Informatics of EL.KE.PA. at Athens. He followed workshops of Sumi-e, traditional Chinese painting and Comics at the community of Naples, Engraving at the Benakis Museum and Artistic Book-binding at the National Center for the Book and Graphics Design at the Faculty of Arts & Design, of the Athens Technological Education Institute (TEI). Simultaneously, he apprenticed to Masters of traditional martial arts of medieval & rinascimental Italy (Scherma Storica) and of Okinawa (Sorin Ryu Karate-do, Matayoshi Kobudo).
His professional curriculum combined the careers of engineering geologist, systems engineer and painter – illustrator – graphics designer. His artistic work has been presented, until now, in personal exhibitions at Athens and in group exhibitions at Montreal, Nicosia, London, Rome, Hamburg, Florence and Liverpool. With the beginning of 2003 he decided to commit himself exclusively to the Visual Arts, so he works now as a painter, illustrator, graphics designer and Visual Arts instructor. He is the founder of The “Romantic Anonymous” Fellowship, Athenian group of the “Stuckism International” movement of fine artists.
