"Painting has always been central to my life: I grew up surrounded by family paintings, and my mother, who painted, encouraged me to do the same. Four years at university where I studied Fine Arts and three years in Europe gave me an appreciation of many different forms and expressions of art and taught me to respect the skills involved.

I live in a very beautiful country, Zimbabwe. For me its beauty is made all the more fragile and poignant by the terrible dysfunctional times we are living through where simply everything we know and love is under threat of destruction."
