About the artist:
ImreSzobotka studied at the School of Design in 1910-14 and in Paris later where he became a follower of cubism ("Greengrocer"). Back in Hungary, he was in search of the unity of Nagybánya traditions and cubism by integrating impressionism and cubism. His pictures are characterized by delicate colours and lyric atmospheres. He travelled to Paris and the Netherlands several times. His copper engravings were significant, too.
