Painter and sculptor of persons, animals, landscapes. Together with Gustave De Smet and Frits Van Den Berghe from the second group of Latem, he help to developed the Flemish expressionism. Received his artistic training at the academy of Brugge from Edmond Vanhove and in Gent with Jean Delvin. Later he became teacher and director of the academy of Antwerpen. Belong to the famous Belgian Latem school. Was good friends with the sculptor Georges Minne, Valeruis De Saedeleer, Gustaaf Van De Woestijne, Albert Servaes, Maurice De Vlaeminck. Has his own museum. Work in museum, Brussel, Antwerpen, Elsene, Kortrijk, Deurle, Oostende and Museum Constant Permeke in Jabbeke.
