Painter of landscapes, animals, desert views, see and river views, temples, ruins, palaces in the realism and orientalism style. Training at the academy of Antwerpen led by Van Brée, Gustave Wappers and Ferdinand De Braekeleer. Often traveled to distand lands. Became in 1843 teacher at the academy of Antwerpen. Work in museum: Brussel, Antwerpen, Kortrijk (Broelmuseum).
