Craig Gough is an Australian Artist, who with his partner artist Wendy Stavrianos, operates under the collective title, 'Mt Gaspard Studios', which is located in Central Victoria near Maldon and Castlemaine.

Craig was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1938, he had achieved a high degree of success with exhibitions and teaching at the Claremont School of Fine Art, writing art criticism for The Sunday Times newspaper, being a member of the Festival of Perth Art Committee and President of the Contemporary Art Society (W.A. Branch).

He moved to Melbourne to take up a Lectureship in Painting at Caulfield Institute of Technology (now Monash University) in 1974. He was appointed Head of Department in Fine Art and Senior Lecturer in Painting before leaving in 1994 to paint full time.

Along the way, he has won many awards and art prizes including the John McCaughey Memorial Art Prize, a painted tram, and a studio residency at 'il Paretaio', the Arthur Boyd Studio in Tuscany, Italy.

Extensive periods of travel through much of Europe and U.S.A. (especially New York) has given him the opportunity to study art in the world's great museums.
His works are in major public galleries, corporate, institutional and private collections in Australia and overseas.

The artist has won many important prizes including the Guild Prize, WA, 1965; Rothman's Prize, WA 1966; Bunbury Art Prize, 1970; John Mc Caughey Memorial Prize, NGV (co winner), 1983; several municipal art awards Vic., 1985, 1986; Gold Coast Art Prize, 1986.
