About the artist:
Painter of portraits, genre scenes, historical and religious compositions, woman, children, mythological scenes in the Realistic and Neoclassical style. Training at the academy of Gent led by Van Huffel and pupil of Herreyns and Joseph Paelinck. Became teacher at the academy of Gent. Was one of the last followers of Louis David in Belgium. Work in museum: Brussel, Gent, Doornik.
