About the artist:
He studied with Tivadar Zemplényi at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. He was one of the gifted young artists originating from Pécs in the first decades of the century. He returned to Pécs in 1919 and played an important role in the art life of Pécs. He exhibited in the Nemzeti Szalon in 1939, in the Ernst Museum in 1959. A memorial exhibition of his collected works were organized in 1971 in Pécs. Several of his paintings are in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery in Budapest. (Source: www.hung-art.hu)
