He was born in Budapest in 1886. He finised his studies in Budapest at the Applied Arts School and during this time he was working at a firma s a designer of posters. In order to deepen his artistic knowledge he attented the evening courses of Károly Ferency and Laszlo Hegedüs at the Academy of Fine Arts for there years This is the origin of the influence of Nagybánya Painting School that can be felt the first part of his career. Having finished his studies he spent a longer period in Paris that was the centre of universal artistic life at that time.
After his settling in Szeged he tries to catch the character and soul of this Tisza countryside. In order to make feel the strong sunny feature of the landscape and the mist floating above the river he uses bold brush lines, additional colours and strong contours.
His travelling in Transylvania and the Tatra Mountain Ranges made his colours even more vivid. The passion of his character and his inner struggles are shown int he contrast of the glowing colours. Meanwhile other types of works apper in his art, showing visions, turning away from reality, full of anguish and tragedy that are returning later on also into his art. The bright red, blue, green colours disappered from his pictures that are dominated later by ochre, grey and brown colours. Ferenc Dinnyés had several exhibitions in his life. The first one in Szeged was in 1919. It was his habit to show his new works to his Szeged public each year.
