About the artist:
Painter, draftsman of popular genre scenes, people, children in the realism and neoclassicism style. Father of Henri and Ferdinand De Braekeleer. Training at the academy of Antwerpen under the tutorship of Van Bree. First holder of the Prix de Rome in 1819. Work in museum: Antwerpen, Brussel, Gent.
