Eugene Emile Marie Dauphin-Baptiste was a painter French born 27 November 1857 in Toulon in the Var and died in 1930 in Paris.
Son of Etienne Dauphin contractor, who executed many buildings of the Upper Town and the Boulevard de Strasbourg and perhaps the Toulon Opera.
L'Atelier des Beaux-Arts de Toulon, founded in 1873 receives from other Octave Gallian , (1855 -c 1905), Gustave Garaud, (1844-1914) and Frederic Montenard, (1849-1926) to be the leader of new experiences of this young Toulon painting with François Nardi (1861-1936), Louis Nattero (1870-1915). It is formed by Vincent Courdouan, then by Henri Gervex.
It starts at Salon of French artists in 1880 which takes place at the Palais des Champs-Élysées and is exposed to the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he became a member and whose show is held at the Champ de Mars (Paris ) , in late April. Received painter of the Navy by decree of 20 June 1889 and was elected to the Academy of painters from the Navy in 1894 . We know him a landscape of Algeria
In 1898 , the decoration of the Grand Foyer of the Theatre of Toulon was taken by Joseph Grandy and in 1922 an order is placed 16 to 16 large canvases of painters. So he directed one of them The Flying Dutchman of Richard Wagner .
Mr. Dervillé , director of the League of Railway Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean PLM , passes command and several painters mounted canvases for the decoration of the restaurant Le Train Bleu in the Gare de Lyon, he painted his hometown Toulon for Great Room of this prestigious restaurant. He also realized the decoration of the buffet Gare Nice-Ville and the Village Hall Circle Naval Toulon
